 Brain-in-Hand supports people who find the organisation of daily life difficult. This may be due to Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, or other conditions where the executive function of the brain is impaired, such as acquired brain injury, mental health issues or mild cognitive impairment in the early stages of Dementia.
Using a SmartPhone linked to a secure web site, we help people with these conditions to lead a more independent and fulfilled life.
Most of our work is initiated by organisations such as the NHS, Social Services, Schools and Colleges, businesses and third party practitioners who want to use their scarce resources more effectively so that they can provide help for more people.
Users of Brain-in-Hand range from children through to those in old age, as long as they can read written text, have basic skills at using a personal or tablet computer and are able to operate an easy-to-use system on a Smartphone.
Users also need a named Supporter who will help them to set up their own Brain-in-Hand and the support of one or more Mentors who will be available to answer a text message and provide practical support over the phone. Typically this is  done via a support organisation such as the NHS, a school or our own mentoring service, but can also be done by a family member or employer.
